Graduate Climate Conference: Application

Welcome to the GCC 2012 application!  We look forward to reviewing your submission.

In line with previous GCCs, the abstract committee intends to assemble a broad range of high quality student research pertaining to climate change. Modelers, observationalists, and experimentalists studying past, current, or future effects of climate change on atmospheric, biological, ocean or earth systems are encouraged to apply as well as students focused on the impacts, mitigation, and politics surrounding climate change.  All abstracts must be written for a general science audience and applicants are encouraged to place their own research in the broader context of the climate science community.  We would like to encourage all levels of graduate students, across a variety of disciplines to apply.  Session topics will be organized based on the participants of the conference. Finally, special preference will be given to abstracts focusing on work not previously presented at a GCC or viewed by the majority of the attendees.

Unfortunately, we are space limited and cannot accept everyone.  Last year, we received about twice as many applications as we could accommodate.  We will carefully review all abstracts following the criteria listed above and will notify applicants of our final decision by mid-July.

If you have any further questions about the application, please contact Sarah Purkey (purkeysg@uw.edu).

Thanks again for your interest in the GCC 2012 and we look forward to seeing you at Pack Forest!

Cheers,

The GCC planning committee
