After having gathered information into each line of inquiry, all three of us were surprised by the degree of dissimilarity that the tropics have with other latitudes.   The amount of influence that global position has on an area’s climate is far greater than any of us had realized.  It would be a mistake to ever make generalizations about the tropics based on patterns observed at other latitudes.
